Apple Cinnamon Crumble Bars

Description

Simple, comforting crumble bars featuring tender apples spiced with cinnamon and topped with a textured oat crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 C Chopped apples
  • 1 Tbs Lemon juice
  • 2 Tbs Brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs Butter
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Tsp Corn starch
  • 1 1/4 c all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c old fashioned oats
  • 1/3 c sugar
  • 1/2 c butter softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375º F and line an 8”x8” baking pan with foil and coat with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium sized sauce pan combine the filling ingredients and cook over medium heat until the apples are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combine the crust ingredients and press 1 c of the dough mix into the bottom of your baking pan.
  4. Evenly distribute the apple filling over the crust and then crumble the remaining dough mixture evenly over the apple filling.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes, slice and serve.

  • Store any remaining bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
