  • 1½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts or walnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until mostly smooth, leaving a few small lumps.
  3. Add the yogurt, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla to the mashed bananas. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in the sugar until the mixture looks glossy.
  5. Sprinkle the flour, baking soda, and salt over the batter. Mix gently just until you no longer see dry flour. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in any optional add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 30 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
