Description
Prepare juicy, flavorful shrimp skewers seasoned with bold Cajun spices, perfect for grilling as a quick appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined, tail on
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon homemade Cajun seasoning
- 6 medium wooden skewers
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before you grill.
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic, and Cajun seasoning. Mix well.
- Skewer 5 shrimp onto each damp skewer.
- Clean the gas grill grates using a steel grill brush. Wipe the grates with a paper towel dipped in cooking oil to prevent sticking.
- Turn all burners to medium-high, cover the grill, and heat until it reaches 450 degrees F.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.
Notes
- Pat the shrimp dry before seasoning so the oil and seasoning stick better.
- Use larger shrimp because they are easier to skewer.
- Buying peeled and deveined shrimp saves you time.
- Store leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days after removing them from the skewers.
- You can reheat this Cajun shrimp in the microwave.
