Description

Prepare juicy, flavorful shrimp skewers seasoned with bold Cajun spices, perfect for grilling as a quick appetizer or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined, tail on
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon homemade Cajun seasoning
  • 6 medium wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before you grill.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic, and Cajun seasoning. Mix well.
  4. Skewer 5 shrimp onto each damp skewer.
  5. Clean the gas grill grates using a steel grill brush. Wipe the grates with a paper towel dipped in cooking oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Turn all burners to medium-high, cover the grill, and heat until it reaches 450 degrees F.
  7. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.

Notes

  • Pat the shrimp dry before seasoning so the oil and seasoning stick better.
  • Use larger shrimp because they are easier to skewer.
  • Buying peeled and deveined shrimp saves you time.
