Description

Make this refreshing, non-alcoholic sparkling drink featuring a homemade cherry vanilla syrup, perfect for celebrations or a special treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cherries halved & pitted
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Soda water

Instructions

  1. Cut the cherries in half and remove the pits.
  2. Add the cherries, water, sugar, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  3. When the mixture bubbles, mash the cherries using a potato masher or similar tool.
  4. Continue simmering on the same heat for 10 more minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool for 15 minutes.
  6. Strain the syrup through a sieve into a jar.
  7. To serve, add some syrup to a glass with ice and top it off with soda water.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of syrup in your glass based on your preferred sweetness and strength. The pictured drink uses 6 teaspoons of syrup.
  • This syrup tastes similar to cream soda.
