Description
Make a rich and simple homemade version of the popular chocolate cream cold brew coffee.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 1–2 tablespoon vanilla simple syrup
- 1 tablespoon malted milk
- 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
- Cold Brew or really strong coffee for serving
- Sweetener, if using, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate cream: Add the heavy whipping cream, half and half, vanilla simple syrup, malted milk, and cocoa powder to a blender. Mix for about 30 seconds until thick and creamy.
- Alternatively, add all cream ingredients to a jar or glass and whip with a handheld milk frother until thick.
- Alternatively, add all cream ingredients to a mason jar and shake for approximately 2 minutes until thick.
- Alternatively, mix ingredients in a jar. Pour into an electric milk frother in batches and select the cold froth option.
- Serve: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in 6 ounces of cold brew or strong black coffee.
- Mix in 1 tablespoon simple syrup, if you prefer extra sweetness.
- Top with about 1/3 to 1/2 of the chocolate cream cold foam.
- Sprinkle with an extra dash of cocoa powder and drink.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of vanilla simple syrup based on your preferred sweetness level.
- Use very cold ingredients for the best foam consistency when blending or frothing.
- If you do not have simple syrup, you can use granulated sugar, but dissolve it first in a small amount of hot coffee before adding it to the cold ingredients.
