- 1.25 pounds chicken
- 1 teaspoon salt, divided
- 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
- 0.75 cup flour, divided
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 12 cloves garlic
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Fresh parsley, optional, finely chopped, for garnish
- Mashed potatoes, optional, for serving
- Green beans, optional, for serving
Instructions
- Season the chicken with 0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.25 teaspoon of pepper.
- Mix 0.5 cup of the flour and 0.5 cup of the parmesan in a shallow bowl. Press the chicken into this mixture on all sides until fully coated.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic cloves. Sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until a golden brown crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet. Add the remaining 0.25 cup of flour, chicken broth, heavy cream, and Dijon mustard to the skillet. Whisk until the sauce is smooth.
- Add the remaining 0.5 cup of parmesan, and add the remaining 0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.25 teaspoon of pepper if you want more seasoning.
- Nestle the chicken back into the sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes and green beans, if you choose.
