  • 1 cup White granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons Plain yogurt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips, optional
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts, Chopped, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool.
  3. Lightly butter or spray an 8×8 inch baking pan. Line it with parchment paper, letting the sides hang over for easy removal. Butter or spray the parchment paper.
  4. In one bowl, sift the cocoa powder with the all purpose flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Whisk these dry ingredients until combined. Set this bowl aside.
  5. In a separate large bowl, combine the melted butter, plain yogurt, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Whisk until the batter forms.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts, if you are using them.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
  11. Lift the brownies out using the parchment paper sides and transfer them to a cooling rack.
  12. Cut the brownies into 16 pieces or your desired size.
