Ingredients
- Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
- Heavy cream
- Milk
- All-Purpose flour
- Garlic
- Salt
- Pepper
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, flour, garlic, salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Peel potatoes then rinse well in water. Slice potatoes into 1/8 inch thick rounds.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the cream mixture evenly over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the top layer.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork and the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use a mandolin slicer for uniform 1/8 inch potato slices.
- For an extra golden crust, you can briefly place the dish under the broiler for the last minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
