A lighter, cleaner version of takeout-style sesame chicken with a sweet and savory glaze.
Ingredients

- 5 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1–2 teaspoons hot sauce (optional)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 2 pounds chicken thighs or breast
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
Instructions
- Mix corn starch and cold water in a bowl.
- Add soy sauce, hot sauce, garlic, honey, ginger, and sesame seeds. Stir well.
- Trim fat from chicken and cut into pieces.
- Toss chicken with corn starch, salt, and black pepper until coated.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook chicken until browned on both sides.
- Pour sauce over chicken and simmer until thickened.

- Use chicken breast for a lower-fat option.
- Serve with steamed broccoli or cauliflower rice.
