Description

Make this fast, flavorful shrimp stir-fry with a glossy honey-garlic sauce. It is a protein-rich, visually appealing meal ready in minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 head broccoli, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cups snow peas
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • green onion for garnish
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1/4 cup honey (for sauce)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the soy sauce, honey, and cornstarch together to make the sauce. Set the sauce aside.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon of the oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and set them aside.
  3. Add the remaining oil to the same skillet. Add the broccoli, peppers, and peas. Sauté until the peppers blister, 5 to 6 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Sauté for 1 additional minute.
  5. Reduce the heat to low. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir for 10 seconds, or until the sauce thickens and coats all ingredients.
  6. Top the stir-fry with green onion and serve over rice.

Notes

  • This recipe works well served over rice or noodles.
  • For a different texture, you can substitute the vegetables with others you prefer, such as carrots or mushrooms.
