Ingredients

- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2–3 teaspoons simple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
- dash of cinnamon (optional add-in)
- splash of vanilla extract (optional add-in)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for simple syrup)
- 1/4 cup water (for simple syrup)
Instructions
- Make the simple syrup: Heat the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, or in the microwave, until the sugar dissolves. Transfer the syrup to a jar and store it in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the matcha base: In a tall glass, whisk the matcha powder and hot water together until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
- Mix in sweetener and add-ins: Stir the simple syrup or honey and any optional add-ins (cinnamon or vanilla) into the matcha base.
- Assemble the iced latte: Fill a glass with ice. Pour the milk over the ice.
- Pour the matcha mixture over the milk. Stir well and serve immediately.

- This simple syrup recipe makes enough for about 8 drinks.
- You can use any type of milk you prefer, including plant-based options.
