- 1 box white cake mix and ingredients to make cake (egg, oil and water)
- 1 small package (3.4 oz) lime gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- Bake the cake according to package directions and let it cool completely.
- Use a spoon handle to poke holes in the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Mix the boiling water and gelatin together until dissolved completely, about 2 minutes.
- Gently pour the gelatin mixture over the top of the cake, making sure it fills the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for 2 hours.
- Remove the cake from the refrigerator and spread the whipped topping over the top.
- Slice and serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
