Ingredients
Scale
- 2 bags popcorn, popped
- 1 bag marshmallows (10 oz.)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup M&M’s
- 1 cup peanuts
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large bowl in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
- Add marshmallows to the butter and stir.
- Microwave the marshmallows and butter for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until the marshmallows puff up.
- Stir the mixture, breaking down the puffed marshmallows into a sticky sauce.
- Add the popped popcorn and peanuts to the sauce and stir to coat everything.
- Do not add M&M’s yet.
- Butter or spray a bundt pan with cooking spray.
- Pour the popcorn mixture into the prepared pan.
- Cover the pan and refrigerate or let it sit for 1 hour until set.
- To remove the popcorn cake, loosen the sides with a knife.
- Place a plate upside down over the bundt pan, then invert the pan and plate together.
- Cover the popcorn cake with plastic wrap to keep it fresh.
Notes
- You can add rainbow sprinkles along with the M&M’s for a true birthday cake look.
- Wait to add the M&M’s until after the mixture is combined with the popcorn so they do not discolor the marshmallow sauce.
