Description

Make these easy, crowd-pleasing Cajun Sausage Bites wrapped in crescent dough. They are perfect for parties and serve well with a simple, spicy dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon Creole mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun/Creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, finely minced
  • 1 8-ounce can Pillsbury Original Crescent Roll dough
  • 12 ounce package Andouille sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 egg plus 1 Tablespoon water for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Combine mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, Cajun/Creole seasoning, and parsley in a small bowl for the Spicy Dipping Sauce. Refrigerate until you serve the bites.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350° F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut each triangle of dough into 3 smaller triangles.
  4. Place one piece of sausage on the wide end of a crescent dough triangle. Roll the dough around the sausage until it is fully wrapped, leaving the cut ends of the sausage exposed.
  5. Place the wrapped bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with the egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 Tablespoon water).
  6. Bake at 350° F for about 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
  7. Transfer the bites to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease. Allow them to cool for 5 minutes.
  8. Serve the sausage bites warm with the Spicy Dipping Sauce.

Notes

  • You can use little smokies instead of Andouille sausage with the spicy dipping sauce.
  • You can prepare the Cajun Sausage Bites ahead of time without the egg wash. Cover them to stop them from drying out and refrigerate. When you are ready to cook, remove them from the refrigerator, brush with egg wash, and cook as directed.
