No-Bake Mint Oreo Truffles

Description

Make these simple, bite-sized no-bake truffles combining mint cookies and cream cheese, coated in white chocolate and green sprinkles. They are perfect for parties or quick treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 cookies Mint-flavored Oreo creme filled sandwich cookies or classic Oreos
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz white candy coating wafers or white chocolate chips
  • Green sanding sugar or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush 20 Mint Oreo cookies in a food processor until you have fine crumbs.
  2. Soften 4 oz of cream cheese in the microwave for about 20 seconds on HIGH.
  3. Add the softened cream cheese to the cookie crumbs and pulse in the food processor just until you no longer see any cream cheese.
  4. Use a 1 tablespoon-size cookie scoop to portion the mixture onto parchment or wax paper, forming rough balls.
  5. Finish rolling the portions into smooth balls.
  6. Refrigerate the truffle balls. Cover them with aluminum foil or plastic wrap if making ahead.
  7. Melt the white candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power, starting with 1 minute, then continuing in 30-second intervals, stirring after each time.
  8. Hold a chilled truffle ball on a candy holder or fork. Spoon the melted candy coating over the ball, letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
  9. Immediately add the green sanding sugar or sprinkles to the coated ball before the coating hardens.

Notes

  • Chilling the truffle balls before coating helps the candy coating harden faster and prevents the chocolate from turning grey when mixed with the white coating.
  • If you need to add sprinkles after the coating sets, melt one tablespoon of coating in a small zip-top bag, snip the end, drizzle it over the truffle, and then add the sprinkles.
