- 1/4 cup crushed peanuts
- 1/2 cup chocolate ganache (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Slowly mix in the boiling water until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour the batter evenly into three cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let the cakes cool completely on wire racks.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. This is your frosting.
- When the cakes are cool, stack them, spreading frosting between each layer. Frost the top and sides with the remaining frosting.
- Garnish the cake with chopped mini peanut butter cups and crushed peanuts. Drizzle optional chocolate ganache over the top for a dramatic finish.
