Description

A simple and elegant appetizer with crispy prosciutto and tender asparagus.


Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch asparagus (about 1 pound)
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Wash and pat asparagus dry. Trim ends by snapping them off where they naturally bend.
  3. Place asparagus in a large Ziploc bag. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  4. Wrap 3-4 asparagus spears with 1 slice of prosciutto. Place seam-side down on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, turning once, until prosciutto is crispy and asparagus is tender.
  6. Mix balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon olive oil, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning in a small bowl.
  7. Remove asparagus from oven. Arrange on a platter, sprinkle with Parmesan, and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Serve immediately.

  • Use fresh, thin asparagus for best results.
