Description
Make a homemade version of the popular Starbucks Strawberry Lemonade Refresher using a simple strawberry acai base.

- ½ cup Strawberry Acai Base
- ½ cup lemonade
- ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries
- Ice
- 2 ¼ cups white grape juice (for base)
- 1 cup hulled and sliced strawberries (for base)
- ½ teaspoon acai powder (for base)
- ½ teaspoon green coffee bean extract (for base)
- ¼ teaspoon passionfruit powder (for base)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (for base)
Instructions
- For the Strawberry Acai Base: Combine white grape juice and sliced strawberries in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Lower heat to a simmer and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes, until strawberries break down.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a heatproof bowl. Press down on the strawberries to extract liquid. Discard strawberries.
- Pour the strained liquid back into the saucepan and return to low heat. Stir in acai powder, green coffee extract powder, and passionfruit powder until the powders dissolve as much as possible.
- Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. Pour into a heatproof bowl or mason jar and refrigerate until completely cool.
- For the Refresher: Add about ½ cup strawberry acai base, ½ cup lemonade, and ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries to an ice-filled shaker.
- Shake well to combine.
- Pour the entire contents of the shaker, including ice, into a cup.
- Adjust the amount of base used based on your preference for sweetness.
Notes
- This Strawberry Acai Base recipe makes enough for about 4 full drinks when using ½ cup of base per drink.
- Store the base in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- You can omit the green coffee extract if you do not want caffeine, as it does not change the flavor.
- The drink remains good even if you skip the acai powder or passion fruit powder.
- Mix the strawberry acai base with water for a Strawberry Acai Refresher or with sweetened coconut milk for a Pink Drink.
