Description
A warm, non-alcoholic drink with spiced chai and apple cider flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cardamom pods
- 6 whole peppercorns
- 4 whole cloves
- 2 star anise (+ more for garnish)
- 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tsp vanilla extract or seeds from 1 vanilla bean
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 2 cups water
- 2 Black tea bags
- 2 cups apple cider
Instructions
- Combine all chai concentrate ingredients except the black tea in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain the liquid and discard the spices. Let cool to room temperature.
- Mix 1/4 cup chai concentrate with 1/4 cup apple cider in each glass. Garnish with star anise.
- Serve immediately or warm the mixture before serving.
Notes
- Save some spices for garnish if desired.
- Adjust honey to taste.
